Raymond “Ray” Lim is a former U.S. Army tank mechanic who always had a fascination with aviation and flying. In fact, as a young boy growing up on the island of Jamaica, he dreamed of becoming a commercial pilot. After immigrating to the U.S., Ray continued pursuing his education at St. John’s University in Queens, N.Y. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve and served while attending Stony Brook University, also in New York. It was at Stony Brook University that Ray earned both his Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Since then, he has worked for and with some of the titans in the aerospace, aviation, and manufacturing industry, including Curtiss-Wright, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon Technologies, and Northrop Grumman. Working on a range of systems and components for aircraft such as the EA-6B Prowler, the T-45 Goshawk, the B-52 Stratofortress as well as the F-14 Tomcat, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the F/A-18 Hornet, Ray has devoted countless hours to designing and testing exhaust systems, ground support equipment and hydraulic and pneumatic componentry. Most recently, Ray has done work on the Next Generation Jammer cooling systems and pneumatic fluid control manifolds on UAVs and missiles.
